What is Workplace Mediation?
Workplace mediation is a process in which a neutral third-party mediator facilitates a conversation between two or more employees who are in conflict with each other or are experiencing a breakdown in communication. The goal for workplace dispute resolution is to help the employees/parties to reach a mutually acceptable resolution to their conflict or communication breakdown, and to improve their working relationship going forward.
Process:
1. Pre-Mediation - The Mediator has a confidential 1:1 with each participant to explain expectations, answer questions and to listen to the participant about concerns and objectives for the mediation. (1 hour per participant)
2. Mediation - An agreed mediation takes place with all participants. The timeframe for mediation will vary depending on the topics to be discussed, engagement of participants and any action plans to be agreed upon. This takes on average 3.5 - 4 hours.
3. An Agreed Action Plan is drafted where applicable.

What is Family Mediation?
Family mediation (also known as Family Dispute Resolution) is a voluntary process in which a neutral third party, known as a mediator, helps family members resolve disputes and reach mutually agreeable solutions. It's often used to address conflicts related to divorce, child custody, child support, property division, and other family matters. The mediator facilitates open communication, encourages understanding, and guides the parties toward finding their own resolutions.
For families going through separation, Wendy Edwards Mediation services offer a structured and empathetic approach to resolving disputes. We are here to help.

During family mediation, Wendy offers both Child Inclusive and Child-focused Mediation.
The Child-focused mediation places the children at the centre of the mediation process. The primary goal here is to consider and address the needs, concerns, and preferences of the children involved. Mediators in child focused mediation work closely with the parents to create a parenting plan that reflects the children's best interests.
The Child Inclusive approach acknowledges that children have valuable insights and feelings about the family changes affecting them. While not placing decision-making responsibility on the children, child inclusive mediation gives them a chance to express their thoughts, concerns, and preferences regarding the proposed parenting arrangements. It is to be noted that the child does not attend the mediation with the parents. This approach is where a Child Consultant assists.
What are the key aspects the Child Consultant delivers during the child inclusive mediation:
Child Inclusive Mediation allows for the consideration of the child's best interests.
